The Coalition has been active in the Ladder League series since the early days. Initially, it was managed ad-hoc by members of the community but over time has grown into a well-organised and fully-integrated part of what we offer.
What sets Ladder League apart is its flexibility. On average, each team has 10 to 15 riders, and offers the chance for folks to take part in as many or few races as they want. Races aren’t locked to a specific day or time, and a better categorisation system ensures more balaced racing. What's more, due to the smaller field size, tactics and cunning can make all the difference to the result.
With over 150 Coalition riders taking to the virtual roads, there’s a place for everyone—from newcomers to seasoned racers.
What is Ladder League?
The league is team-based and operates under a ladder tournament format. Each team can challenge others above them in the league to a race, which is then run in a 5v5 rider format with race points allocated based on finishing position. The team with the highest number of race points is the winner.
The league is run in a leapfrog format and teams are free to choose who to play by challenging teams up to 7 above them in the table. If they win they take the loser's position and everyone below moves down a position, hence they leapfrog up the table. Rather than relying on legacy Zwiftpower categories, teams are bound by ZwiftRacing App rankings. The league mixes all teams and rankings together in one league, allowing for a strong team at the upper end of one ranking level to challenge themselves against lower ranked teams of the ranking level above.

Coalition Ladder Teams
At the time of writing we have 12 Ladder Teams, representing a full-range of abilites and timezones. We have 5 mixed teams in the Americas, 4 mixed teams in EMEA and 1 women's team. The women's league is a new addition and is an area where we hope to grow in the same way we have done in ZRL.
