This passed weekend the famed Sandy Ridge trail system and majestic Mt. Hood provided the backdrop for the final race of the Oregon Enduro Series. With rainy weather in the week leading up to the race the skies cleared and left us with amazing conditions for the weekend. There was a lot on the line for the team with Tony de Cordoba sitting in second place overall in the Expert Men’s category and Graz holding the top spot in 40+ Sport Men’s by a very small margin.
Day 1 took place in Sandy Ridge with 3 stages. In the first stage Tony managed to crack the stanchion on his fork and had oil spraying all over his brakes. He still managed to collect enough points to protect a 3rd place overall finish in the series.
Michael put in a good day and moved up to 4th in the overall points. At the end of the day Graz had lost his first place in the series by only 6 points.
Day 2 offered a long pedally stage on Mt Hood followed by a rowdy high speed stage on Ski Bowl ski resort. With his Mega AM inoperable and a safe hold on 3rd overall, Tony chose to take a time penalty and switched bikes to his Pulse DH bike. Michael also had a solid hold on 4th.
At the end of the day Graz hung onto the second place spot on the overall podium and Tony and Michael took 3rd and 4th in the Men’s Expert series overall.
